NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
