Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
