Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 in Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until death approached us". 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
