The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
