The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
