The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
