Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
