The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
