The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
