And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 As to what they did. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
