'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 And ease for me my task 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 and remember you often. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
