Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
