Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
