Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 He plunged the villages 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
