Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
