Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
