Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

YOU ARE OBSESSED by greed for more and more 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
