The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Verily We created man from a sperm yoked (to the ovum) to bring out his real substance, then gave him hearing and sight. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 [saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 Vessels of silver and goblets of pure crystal will be passed round among them 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger 17 A fountain there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
