When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
