The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ Far, far is that which you are threatened with. 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people. 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
