The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TaSeen. Those are the verses of the Koran, a clear Book, 1 A guidance and good news for the believers, 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing. 6 Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." 7 So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 And cast thou down thy staff. Then when he saw it wriggling as though it were a serpent, he turned in flight and looked not back. O Musa! fear thou not; verily in My presence the sent ones fear not. 10 except he who has done evil, then, after evil, has changed into good. I am the Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. 14
