The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
