۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 What, do we then not die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
