Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we glorify God". 166 What though they would say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
