The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And the day resplendent 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But save him who fears 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
