The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
