Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 Around her neck will be a rope of palm fibre. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
