The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 and the drivers driving, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And also our forefathers? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
