Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
