In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known extent. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
