The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
