Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
