The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 Then those that produce fire striking, 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord, 6 and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed: 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
