۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
