The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and brightening morning, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
