Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
