A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 And the moon! For it We have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 And if We will, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout (or helper) for them (to hear their cry for help) nor will they be saved. 43 unless it be by an act of mercy from Us and a grant of life for a [further span of] time. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 and they will not even be able to make a testament, nor to return to their households. 50
