The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
