Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Noble and recording; 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
