Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
