The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
