Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, weary, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 well arranged goblets, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
