The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
