Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
