And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What held thee back when thou didst see them gone astray, 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 He said: O son of my mother! Clutch not my beard nor my head! I feared lest thou shouldst say: Thou hast caused division among the Children of Israel, and hast not waited for my word. 94 Musa said: what was thy object, O Samiri? 95 He answered: "I have gained insight into something which they were unable to see: and so I took hold of a handful of the Apostle's teachings and cast it away: for thus has my mind prompted me [to act]." 96 Musa said: begone thou! verily it shall be thine in life to say no contact; and verily thine is an appointment which thou shalt by no means fail. And look at thy god to which thou hast been assiduous; we shall surely burn it, and we shall scatter it into the sea a wide scattering. 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence. 99 Whosoever turns away from it, upon the Day of Resurrection He shall bear a fardel, 100 And will live for ever under it. How evil the burden they will carry on the Day of Doom! 101 On the day when the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the guilty, blue-eyed, on that day 102 whispering one to another, 'You have tarried only ten nights.' 103 We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day. 104
