Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
