Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
