And when you slew a soul and then fell out with one another concerning it, Allah made known what you concealed. 72 And We said: Smite him with some of it. Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His portents so that ye may understand. 73 Yet, in spite of this, your hearts only hardened like rocks or even harder, but among rocks are those from which rivers flow; and there are also those which split open and water gushes forth; as well as those that roll down for fear of God. And God is not negligent of all that you do. 74 ۞ Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it. 75 When they meet those who believe, they say: 'We are believers' But when alone, they say to their other (chiefs). 'Do you tell to them what Allah has revealed to you so that they will dispute with you concerning it with your Lord? Have you no sense' 76 Do they not know that God knows all that they conceal and all that they disclose? 77 Among them are unlettered folk who know the Scripture not except from hearsay. They but guess. 78 Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, "This is from Allah," to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby. 79 And they say: The Fire (of punishment) will not touch us save for a certain number of days. Say: Have ye received a covenant from Allah - truly Allah will not break His covenant - or tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not? 80 Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. 81 And those who believe and do good deeds – they are the People of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 82
