The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
