T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 So when he came to it, a voice was uttered: O Musa: 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
